Two Spot Bristletooth Tang...........

Is there something particular you want to know ?
I have had my for a year and it basicaly acts like a Kole. It spends most of its time grazring rocks and is ignored by the other tangs and fish I have except occasionaly pesterd by my Flame but most flames have an attitude anyway...mine is about 3 inches and has only grown about an inch over the year.
Because of the nature of the mouths of all bristle tooths is important that they dont injure the mouth because they dont have teeth that they can bite or chew and the food they consume must be more of a small and soft nature for them to swallow. Reserch the genus that includes the Kole and Chevrons that are more popular because most are basically the same in care and needs,
Its not a very popular fish in the hobby because its not that appealing and most would have to go research other sites to fine things out that you could do yourself.
Post more specefic questions and maybe I can help some more......

Just wanting to hear others experience with this fish and maybe someone has info. that I have not been able to find.
I read that they do not get bigger than the Kole Tang, and since most seem to agree that a Kole Tang would be healthy in a 55 gallon, I figured that this one would be okay also.
As I said I have 80 lbs. of rock that has been in this system for a little over a year.
I think it is a wonderful fish with tons of personality and would pick it over most tangs any day!
Anyway, just wanting to know others experience with this fish and maybe some helpful tips in keeping it healthy.

Yes it will get a couple inches bigger that the Kole as an adult, and their color can be different depending on age and where their from just like the Kole and Chevron....IMO, they should get better looking with age.
I like haveing one from this genus simply due to their constaint rock cleaning abilities, like haveing an additional janitor in the tank..Keeping rocks cleaned so they can preform bio- filtration better..and they are pretty funny to watch too because they seem so goofy at times.
I have posted here a few times on my experiance with my Kole and what I feel about the hardiness of the genus, and how I beleive the idea that they are a hardy fish and can do fine in a small tank is a misconseption due to the lack of people claiming long term success with them in small tanks and research I have done myself, But thats just my thoughts and Im just one individual...Dont get me wrong, I wish you success and everyones circustances are different...I know.
The main thing IMO, is to provide it with lots of algea based foods that it can properly consume and prevent any stressfull situations as possible.
If you got your photo from WWM site then thats a great site with lots of good info, just hard to navigate some things...Heres a link to many photos and maybe some more info, if it works and I hope the mods will allow it....http://images.google.com/images?as_q...imgsafe=active
I hope others can chime in more to help you, Also heres a couple pics of mine....its a tough one for me to get a good shot of, always on the go and a little shy....

Wow, I guess I got some wrong information. Everything I read said they don't get bigger than a Kole.
Did I make a real big mistake?
Should I plan on giving him up when he gets bigger?
My wife and I are selling the house we live in and buying a new one when she gets out of school in 3 years and I will be setting up a fish room with a 180 gallon or so tank, but this is quite a ways down the road.

Your call, I would hate to think that the fish would have to be subjected to more stress and would hope that you can provide the best care that you can now that you got it, Your skills may be that you can provide a healthy life for at for a while untill you must make a choice...

I am not worried about providing good food or care, just the size of the tank.
Maybe he won't outgrow this tank before we move in 3 years.
If so, I will just have to give him away to a better home..........
