Typhoon III ro/di Questions

I just got my ro/di unit from airwaterice and have a install question. I want to fill 2 different containers, one for top offs and one to mix saltwater in. I ordered an extra float valve but am having a problem finding out how to split to the 2 containers. Any advice?

If you have the 75GPD unit you would cut that down to about 37GPD between the two units filling both at the same time. You may want to split the line with valves, fill one bin, then do the other. You could find the fittings at a Lowes or Home Depot to fit the tubing. This would allow you to have at least one full bin of water to work with.

In the ro only bin (for top offs) I only need 5gpd. As long as i have a float valve in the container, shouldn't it stop at that amount and continue to fill the larger bin until the float valve shuts it off as well?

Wouldn't trade it in for any other. works great, no problems! Good customer service as well.

How do you have yours hooked up? Are you filling 1 or 2 containers?

I have one set up right now, but I'm doing the two float valve things here shortly. One for top of water, the other for water change salt water.

I guess that is really my question... Will 2 float valves work with 1 ASOV?

Have the same unit with it split. One goes to sump w/ float valve and other to new salt mixing water tank w/ float valve. Not enough pressure to work both at the same time but when one fills and shuts off the other kicks in until it fills. Works great!!

Thanks --. That is what I wanted to hear. What did you use for a splitter?

As someone mentioned earlier, a plastic push-in style "T" available at the big home stores in the plumbing section. HTH!

I have a typhoon III...I have a set up like what you are talking about...the top bucket receives the r/o water and its level is controlled by a float valve. I now have a bulkhead at the base and a ball valve spout so that I can easily fill the bucket below with r/o for mixing saltwater. I also have a small r/o bulkhead in the base of the top r/o bucket which runs to my sump and "auto top offs" the sump. the flow to the sump is controlled by a float valve in the sump here are pics...I have actually added more plumbing so now all three resevoires, the r/o bucket, the saltwater bucket, and the sump run to my pump and it will pump them to the tank, depending on how all the ball valves are opened or closed.
