Typhoon RO/DI water?

Very simple, can I use the typhoon ro/di to fill jugs for drinking water? I would like my investment to be used for more than just my hobby.

The Typhoon Dual Home/ Reef. It is set up for just what you are wanting and has a holding take for drinking water.

It depends on who you ask. Some say DI water is bad for you...others say it's ok. You might want to write Walter, who sold you the Typhoon, to see what he thinks.
Reefnut...sounds like he already has a typhoon...wouldn't be practical for him to buy a new unit.
You could ask Walter if he has a kit to add on to what you have to make it the Dual Reef/Home system. I'm sure he does. Basically you will be drinking just RO water and not RO/DI.

If that is the case just bypass the DI for your drinking water. I think they come with a bypass installed.

I just sent an e-mail Walter, I'll let you know what he says...
I would think I could just Bypass or disconnect the DI chamber though.

I have the Typhoon III also and it is great. I think Walter sells the add-on tank kit for $69.00 which is not a bad price. You could also put a tap with shutoff in the line that enters the DI filter. Turn off the valve at the end of the DI line and open the added valve in the pre-DI line.

responce from walter was that there is an add on kit without the tank for 9.95, it includes a t, an elbow and ball valve to bypass the DI portion....
With this I can just refill my water cooler jugs when necessary. I can probably get the parts at local harware store and do the same thing.

David,
If you get one of his units, I would highly suggest the Typhoon III. It comes with quick flush capability so you can rinse the RO membrane anytime (important feature that helps the most expensive filter of the unit), pressure gauge, and TDS meter. The pressure gauge and TDS meter will clue you in as to when you need to change your filters....don't want to replace your filters too soon and waste money, nor do you want to replace too late and hurt your aquarium.
As kipass said ... www ..... airwaterice .... com is where you can find all of walter's units.
