Should this not apply to most set ups. After I realized I had my U tube installed wrong and installed it right (duh I cant read directions) I have since cut power and lost power and noticed it does not break siphon.
when the power goes out the water level in the overflow box only drops to about the line marked. and appearently the drain box outside the tank doesn't drop lower than where the U tube sits therefore with both of sides of the U tube still submerged in water it remains full of water and never breaks siphon. when the power comes back on the oveflow box refills back up and the siphon/drain resumes to work as normal. So as long as the U tube stretches long enough inside the overflow and drain box shouldn't this hold true for most U tube drains in general? damn I feel much better after noticing this!
