U-Verse TV

I have the guy coming out within the next hour. They (AT & T) promised faster internet, I have DSL right now and satellite for the TV. U-Verse is fiber optics. So I guess when he gets here I won’t be on line until he is done. That means I can watch TV now when it rains, it’s windy out or snowing…. I hope the HD is a good as the satellite. I will save around $100.00 a month according to their numbers, we shall see.
Anyone else take the plunge or am I a late comer and everyone else already has it? How do you like it?

Wow guys, every 5 minutes they have a commercial for AT &T U-verse..I'm in Illinios.
It's just like the Dish network DVR box where you can save your shows on, no more than 2 at a time and you have to watch one channel as it plays...this one allows 4. You can pause, rewind just like a tape player, and from any TV in the house, but we only have the one TV.
3 computers and 1 TV...life has changed over the years...LOL
Meowzer, I should have guessed you wouldn't have it, they don't have fish stores by you either. However, I don't have a pet deer that hangs out in my yard. I think you have the better deal.

We have Xfinity here which is just Comcast's marketing ploy. Only other option is Qwest and I'll use smoke signals before I ever do business with those jackasses again. Worst company it's ever been my sad misfortune to deal with.

Well I'm back up...boy is this nice! The site came up like 3xs faster
The guy was nice, he set all three computers and showed us how to work everything. It's supposed to cost $122.00 but for 6 months it's $100.00 ...I WAS paying $178.00 so life is a little sweeter.
This isn't cable like Comcast, it's fiber optics, light the size of a strand of hair. Beyond that I don't know anything else except the now have faster internet for less money.
LOL...even the dogs dance faster.

Glad you like it, I have not heard of it either and doubt it will be offered out here in the sticks. On the bright side, our dish going out does provide a great severe weather warning. LOL

Well I just tried watching TV...[strike]I lost the ability to pause live TV.
..I have to get used to regular TV. It only pauses recorded shows..

[strike] [/strike]
I like the internet speed. The monthly bill is much better...still I liked live TV I could fast forward and get rid of commercials.[/strike]
Edit:
Something is messed up with my remote, my Momns has it rewind and pause...no problem..I will be calling tech support in the morning,.it must be set wrong.

I have u-verse, as Cranberry said I loooove it. I have also had good experiences with the customer service. You should be able to pause live tv.

I have two remotes, one needed new batteries..yes, the one I was trying to use...LOL It gave me a guide, turned on and off the TV, but would not pause live TV. My Mom was playing with her remote and said she could pause it..sure enough..so I changed the batteries and all is good in my world again. Now if I can just find my old stand by programs I like to watch.

Understood that it's fiber optics, just sayin Comcast offers all the same services over cable. Not sure anything is better over fiber optics other than internet speed. We'll never get another provider around here because all the utilities are under ground, it would be crazy expensive for another company to come in an run fiber optics so unless Qwest gets bought out by a reputable company offering TV services we are stuck with a choice between them and Comcast.

Flower, how is the HD working out...do you see any difference in the picture quality? I'm interested in calling up ATT and going with U-verse mostly for the faster internet. $180 a month for internet and cable with Time Warner right now...I also hate time warner...their customer service is about the worst I've ever seen.

To be honest I don't really notice too much of a difference in quality from satellite and this. I have ever had cable. However I also was paying quite a bit so $100.00 for 6 months is going to feel pretty dang good, then $125.00 or around there...so that is very nice and internet is smoken, I love it.

Can you pause live tv on both tvs? They told me they were still working on that technology and only one tv can pause live tv.

I only have one TV. But on the commercial it shows any TV..
When I had Dish satelite I could pause any TV so surely U-Verse can too.

You can pause any tv when watching a recording....but only one main tv can pause and rewind live tv. They said this year I will be able to pause live tv on any tv though. I thought I read you had 2 is why I asked. Well you should enjoy it though, I'm satisfied with them.
