UFO vine like growth,What is it?

Anybody seen this before and is it bad ?It started on the back of the overflow about six months ago and now headed towards the rocks.

WOW That is awesome Im not 100% positive but it looks like some type of star polyp but its is wicked looking... If its a coral of some type I would be willing to buy some off of you... that stuff looks sweet.

From what I have researched they are a type of Clove coral, unfortunatly some species can be as annoying as aptasia. It has 8 tenticles per polyp so it is a type of octocoral of some sort.

definately not hydroids. From your pics they look like cloves or pipe organs to me. And yes they grow quickly like xenia's, star polyps, gloves.

Looks wild though especially how its growing on the back of your tank like that... I want my GSP to do that so it looks like I have grass growing on the back of my tank.. If your fragging I would be interested..

Looks sweet on the walls,hate to see what it will do once it gets on your LR and corals though.
