Uh oh paint in my tank...

ok i know. im a jackass. now that thats out of the way, HELP!! i just topped off my tank with about 1 gal of makeup water i had sitting around. evidently someone cleaned a paintbrush in it and i didnt know till i got to the bottom of the bucket. oh yeah the paint was white, and it doesnt look that cool. Help

That is messed up man. Reminds me of the time I was rinsing out a filter, and someone thought to help me out and rinse it with dishsoap. I put the filter back in the tank and soap bubbles everywhere.

If you haven't already, I would do a 30% water change right away. Good luck.

30% hell... I would cahnge all the water... if it is paint, it will kill all your stuff.

Yikes !
I'd run out ASAP and get Rubbermaid containers or a large NEW plastic trashcan, depending on the size of your tank. Mixup NEW saltwater and add heater and NEW powerhead.
Evacuate ALL living things you can, meaning fish and inverts STAT !!! . If it's paint - latex or oil based - I'm guessing everything else in the tank is toast.
Sorry to hear of such a mess - and I hope you can save some of the critters.
