ok so i have been looking around getting info on getting a new tank and i thought about how much weight could the floor handle o_O i read somewhere that most floors in a house can take up to a 70g tank I'm guessing thats just a guess but beside checking the foundation of the house would there be another way to ball park it o_O? I'm thinking of getting a 125g tank 72w x 18d x 20h in. the tank i have now sitting on the same floor is a 55g 36w x 14d x 20h. I know this question is a little redundant but i thought i might give it a try.

it should be fine pretty much no matter what. if you want to be safe, place the tank so it crosses the floor joists.

i think GENERALLY a floor can hold 100lbs per square foot. If you're really wanting to know, you can check the building codes for your house type in your city and that should be the minimum yours is.
