So I received some gift certificates for ***** and decided to "special" order a blue tang from them. Gave the fish guy very specific instructions to call me as soon as their fish shipment arrived, leave the tang in the bag, and I'd be there in 20 minutes or so to pick it up.
Well, shipment day came and after not receiving a call I called them. Turns out the fish didn't look well so they decided to dump it in their tank anyways. Reason being they wanted the fish to try to recover so it wouldn't die on me when I took it home. ***** has no gaurantee on salt fish and they didn't want me to be out the money. Sounded reasonable and I could accept that.
What I couldn't believe is when I went down there the next day to check out the fish it was lying on it's side gasping in a small tank while 3 gigantic yellow tangs and one huge harlequin sweetlips kept swimming over and nudging it. I asked the fish guy if he couldn't move it to one of the many empty tanks so maybe it wouldn't be so stressed out with the other big fish swimming around it. His reply was:
"Oh no, those yellow yellow tangs are actually helping him get better. He'll be alright and I'll give you a call when he's ready to go."
Well, I called later in the week to check on the status of the fish. The fish guys reponse: "Oh yeah, it died"
