Undergravel filter.....are they good to have?

Some people love them, but I don't. It's really outdated technology...it's kinda like airstone skimmers.
If you like the idea, then that's okay, but I think other forms of filtration are better. Like chris said, they can be nitrate factories.

Yeah, with the sand you have to get filter floss to form a barrier. Nobody really uses these anymore, so I'd say skip on it. Unless you want to spend the 20 bucks to see how it turns out.

i agree. save the $20 and spend it on something more useful.

I think you would be much happier with the 8-track player. I dont think you need an undergravel filter. I had those in a cuople of my tanks like 20 years ago, yikes! Thats old school.

Undergravel filters?? I didn't think they still made them. They're a thing of the past. Save your 20 bucks or if you have a couple xtra 20's you can sent one to me
