Now my dad changed his mind and saying he dosent want to get a camera anymore
sorry everybody for making everyone go crazy tying to help

He says we can get a case for the existing coolpix that we have though, not too sure of the model name yet. Anybody know of a good brand for underwater cases? The cheaper the better, thanks!

Cheaper is not good! If you want a case that you dont have to worry about leaking you're not gonna find one cheap. Check out Ikelite

I doubt either of them would have them. If you're looking for something local check out Berger Brothers or Cameta Camera. Both of them are on Rt. 110 in Amityville.

I decided on The fujifilm FinePix camera. Waterproof to 10 feet .It's not so bad, picture quality is decent and what can be expected of a $180 underwater camera.
I accidently erased the good ones of my seahorses so this is what i have right now. The 2 clams were taken underwater, the seahorse through the glass.

Those clam pics came out great! Just be very careful when you're snorkeling with the camera. It's VERY easy to end up deeper than 10 feet and if you're snorkeling you wont have any kind of depth gauge on you like you would if you were diving.

Thanks
10 feet is pretty deep for snorkeling once I think about it, the bottom of my pool is 8' so I think I wont be going to far down
but thanks for the heads up
. even if I do go down Ill just pass the camera to my mom.

I did quite a bit of snorkeling before I started diving and you'd be surprised how deep you can end up if you are in crystal clear water and see something interesting that you want to take a closer look at.
