I purchased a really nice piece of "dead" coral the other day with very sharp edges.
I didn't realise until I got home that there was actually live coral on the rock. I think it was dying so it was sold as rock.
I've tried to find out what it is but can't.
It's kind of flourescent green, circular with lines and small and oozes brown stuff out of a hole in the middle. There are about 4 pieces of it on the rock.
Any ideas what it is? Should I remove it if (when) it dies? Feels kind of shitty just waiting for it to die but I don't have a reef set-up and the store had obviously given up on it already.
