most people would say that anemones need strong lighting, correct?
mine ahs recently taken to live in a cave, completely blocked from light.
is this normal?
when i placed it in the tank, it had lots of light, and has moved into the darkness on its own. It seems to be doing really well though, but i was just wondering if its normal.

Anennomies(sp) do funny things-I am absolutely no expert. I have 4 in my tank-bubble tips-they all came from my first one splitting. I do not have mh lighting but I have good flow and they have parked themselves on my rock close to the top of the tank. I think they have adapted to my tank. But they are huge and seem to be healthy-they eatsilversides and filter feed, and have survived hurricanes! Here is a picture of mine the one in the back is very big.

Do you know what kind it is?
How long have you had it?
Some anemones, if kept, say, under lower light conditions, will "shy away" from much more intense light until they acclimate to it. So I wouldn't be overly concerned...just that they are more motile than a lot of people expect!

I kept my LTA in my 55 under 260w of PC's for SEVERAL months until it moved into a cave. It died 1 week later. Good luck.

mine is a BTA anemone, ive had it for about 2 weeks now, and it seemed to be doing really well.
it was sitting on top of the rocks since day one, and both my clowns have hosted it.
i spot feed it microvert 3 times a week and it really does seem healthy.
under its cave, it doesnt look deflated or anything, i was just wondering why it would move there.
i hope it doesnt die

It will be fine, it wont die from that, and will probably change locations again in a few days. Mine has parked itself on the underside of a bridge i made...Lol, where it doesnt get too much light either.

I would give it a meatier meal (thawed silverside bits) every 2/3 days. He may just be looking for food, not shying from the light.
