unusual substance

was wondering if anybody has seen a white cotton like substance in there tank befor it is all over my non live rock .

does it look like little white tubes? with two hairs coming out the top? like q-tip?

no not really it just covers the rock like a mat.i try taking it out but it gets everywhere
