you should have had the heater in before. I'm not positive but those temps will probably kill a lot of the stuff of the live rock.
It will grow back ,but take longer. But I'm also a noob, so I could be wrong, and there's nothing you can do now anyways.
And your set up sounds like the exact same as mine.

No worries, it takes awhile for new rock to grow anything anyways.
I've had mine for bout a month and I'm starting to see a few snails, but thats the only growth I can see.

Not a big deal. Aim for right around 78-80 degrees. A few degrees higher is perfectly fine as well. Once you get the temp up, the most important thing is stability. You don't want the temp to swing more than 1 degree over a 24 hour period.

Woah that will be hard to do with a 10 gallon... Guess I'm going to have to go buy another heater.

What size heater do you have? If it is 50-75 watts you will be fine with just one.
Sorry I didn't explain it. I have a 50 watt, but I meant for when I mix it and add it to the tank. I haven't thought about it because I have no livestock yet.

I use a 50 watt heater to mix, and then borrow the temp probe from my tank. That way I can see the difference from tank to mixing water. You will also want to get a small powerhead to mix it. Be sure to let it mix for a good 24 hours before using. I use either ro/di water or distilled, should be good either way

Yah I have a 20 dollar gift card, and a big bag of aragonite sand to return so I will be getting a power head, heater and the PH buffer.
I think with water changes this PH thing shouldn't be a problem.
And I use distilled water... too poor for an RO/DI system haha.

What filter do you have?
The filtration isnt as important if you can keep up with regular water changes. A regular power filter fit for a 10 gallon tank should be enough.
If you can aim the power head at the surface like said. I have mine in a corner but aimed at the perpendicular wall to it, this causes the current to crash and seperate giving flow to most of the tank, if not all.
