Update..Live Rock

Finally added some live rock. Picked up about 30 lbs of live rock and 10 lbs of live shelf rock. The tank is finally startin to look better.(the site i use to post pics loses some picture quality..sorry)

Nice live rock but the only problem with this rock is that they pull it out from the mines and then dump it into the gulf. Its not good rock for your natural flitration unlike fiji rock. Its Florida aquaculutered Live rock and its LOADED with phosphates so be carefull. I added some to my 12 gallon and tested the phospates and they increased and i had a small brown algea problem for about a week or two.
Make sure the rock you buy doesn't have mantis shrimp in it.

Very nice! Live rock fascinates me! I spend lots of time at my tank with a magnifying glass (actually have 2 with different magnifications) My 30 gallon has about 70 lbs of LR, and I would have bought more, but my 18 year old daughter gave me a firm "mom, NO, you have too much rock now, no more!" The only way I can buy more rock is to get a bigger tank! Now, there's a thought :thinking:
