Just wanted to post a quick update and couldn't find my original post...
Well she's finally eating and I cannot take the credit for it. After many failed attempts on my end and getting her into the vet sooner than the original appointment he had put her on a liquid diet ~ think protein shake for dogs ~ because she would drink without a problem. He also drew blood to rule out any medical issues that may have gone unnoticed in the exam. I think her "shakes" helped because once she was getting a bit more nutrition she started perking up quite a bit more. One morning when I was making breakfast she came running to my feet in the kitchen. I gave her a sample of what I was making...wouldn't touch much, but did lick the bacon. Not eat it, but licked it
In the end my Molly did the trick. She has buddied up with one of our miniature schnauzers and they are inseparable now. The new little one will not leave her side...they play together, sleep together, she's even at Molly's side when poor Molly is trying to go potty. Thank goodness Molly doesn't seem to mind. In any case, she was also right next to Molly when she was eating and one day just sampled a bite or two - nothing more than that. Over the course of a few more days she started eating more. She will not eat unless Molly is at the bowl with her, but hey it's a start right.
Anyway, here she is...she's very timid around the camera so it's not a very good pic...and yes that's the edge of Molly trying to get up in my lap
