Upgrading lights!

WOOOO my new lights will be here tomorrow... I got an Odess 48" 2x175 MH and 2x96 PC's with 6 led moon lights... over a 55 should work out to be about 10 watts per gallon!!! Fans will be ablowing!
My wife wants to go to the petstore tonight for new corals..... is it not wise since my new lights wont be here untill tomorrow... Will the corals be ok with just PC lighting untill tomorrow afternoon?
Or should we just wait... she wants to go tonight because im off tomorrow and we can stay up late (i go to bed at 8 cause i go to work at 3am)

wow congrats on your new lights!! i wish I had the $$$ for that kinda stuff. I have a 55 with 4X65 PC haha nothin compared to yours. but to your question:
how much PC do you have now?? some corals, any softies will live under PC, some just need more than others. if you have 5 times your tank volume worth of watts (in this case around 275) you can keep mostly any softies. if you have lets say 200, If anything, I'd go with just mushrooms, zoos, etc. if you have less than 175, dont buy anything. If I were in your shoes, I wouldnt buy anything. Have patience wait a day or two then get the coral(s) you really like. sounds like a plan to me.
By the way, if you have any extra $$ that you dont need, I'm here. hehe

Right now i have 4x55 watt PC lighting..... i already have some softies....

Ricordia Yuma
Frog Spawn
Bubble Coral
Candy Cane
Toadstool leather
Eagle Eye Zoos
With the Halides id like to go with some Acroporas, birdsnest, and other hard corals.

Congrats on your lights. I'm considering purchasing the same set for my 75. Pls keep us posted as to how they work out.

OK i just got the lights and set them up... Everything works great and it was VERY WELL SHIPPED... wrapped over and over and over again with bubble wrap....
The shimmer of the MH's looks great in the tank though i think its freaking out my fish that arent used to it... I cant wait till night and the moon lights come on..
The light is HUGE and will fit the 75 gallon perfectly... I had to make a few minimal mods to get it to fit on the 55 gallon but all is well and it looks GREAT!
Im checking now to see how much it heats up the tank...

We're upgrading our lights too!!! It won't get here til friday...
