Upgrading Tank...Suggestings and Advice Needed

I've had my 46g Bowfront running about 7-8 weeks. The other day at work I was talking about my new saltwater tank and someone I work with said he wished I told him I was about to buy a tank because he has one he wants to get rid of. After talking a bit he offered his 90g with stand, T5 VHOs, wet/dry filter with overflow, protein skimmer, 200lb of rock...for $150!!!!

Yes, that is right $150!!!!!
So of course its SOLD!!!! I'm getting it this weekend.

My dilema - my first thought is I'll put it in storage until I get my 46g where I want it...but then...heck with that...I'll put everything in the 90 and work on the 46 later!!!
So - will I be able to transfer everything I have now into the 90g and not worry about a fresh cycle? Would it be like doing a 50% water change? Or would I need to let the 90g cycle first? In the 46 I have about 25-30# live rock, and started with 20# live sand and 30# argomax sand. (So would that now be 50# of live sand)?
Any and all suggestions are welcomed!!!

Wow, that is awesome.
Here is what I would do. Keep your 46gallon running and don't remove anything. Setup your 90gal with your lr, wetdry and all the equiptment you purchased. Add 1" of dead sand before you start. Get it running with new saltwater. Then add 1/2" of true live sand to start a cycle. When cycle is over slowly add your inverts, lr from 46gal, and fish to your new 90gal. Make sure and drip acclimate them to your new tank.

I have 3 damsels...2 clowns...a handful of snails, hermits, an emerald, serpent star, and a BTA. I also have tons of some type of *pod things, worms, and other hijackers I notice in and out of the rocks and sand.
Ok - so as I figured....it would probably be best to cycle the new tank, but I would be posed with the question of location for my new tank. I have limited space, and my only real option is to put the 90g where I currently have the 46g. Is there a way I can do this as a 50% water change switch safely?
