Upgrading this weekend

Thanks. I knew the rock in the 55 wasn't going to be enough and this way I could make 3 or 4 large pieces that had the holes and ledges that I want. It took a long time to cure but I didn't have to go thru the 6 week cycle at least. I have lots of little pieces in the fuge for doing frags.

That stand/canopy is a masterpiece. Great job and wonderful skills.

Congrats on the upgrade.

Thanks
, Hubby built the structure and I "skinned" it. I probably spent about 8 total weekends building the stand. I routed all the doors and molding except the dark inset. It's maple with a white wash stain and the inset is a dark cherry. And there's at least 5 coats of polyurethane The cabinet is built to eventually go into the house we will build in NC and will be placed on a wall where you can see the front and one side. After this upgrade, I'm not looking forward to moving it.

This is great....looks excellent....I put up a wall at my house...where you can see the front and one of the sides....my woodworking skills aren't anywhere comparable to yours, so I did drywall instead...i finished putting all the trimming and sanded this weekend. Will paint this upcoming weekend, after I clean up the room a bit from all the excess dust all over.....I too plan on making DIY rock....and won't actually have my tank up and running until June....Mamma has got me on a budget....LOL...
Great job and seeing all these tank just has me itching on finishing mine.......a 135 by the way.....

Now see my drywall skills suck
We're all good at different things. Thanks for the co,mplement on the stand. For your DIY rock there is an excellent thread in the DIY board you might have to search for it. It did take a lot longer to cure than I expected from reading that thread.
