urchin with horses...

is it possible to do an urchin with seahorses? I have had my main tank running for two years now, and I want to do a 20 gallon tank of something... I'm thinking seahorses with either an urchin or chocolate chip would that work?

If you do start a seahorse tank I would start one a little larger for them.
Atleast a 30 gallon.
Tuxedo,pencil and pincushion urchins are safe for horses.
Chocolate chip starfish I don't think are safe with horses.I am not sure though.

Pencil urchins would be ok, but not those with sharp points. Seahorse tails are tender and any cut/poke/stick could invite an infection if/when the seahorse comes in contact by hitching or dragging it's tail over the urchin.
I've kept starfish with seahorses without issue. As with all tankmates, keep an eye on what's going on in the tank and remove anything that is/may cause a problem based on your observations.

I have pencil urchins in with my horses and there fine.It's funny to see them hitch on them and go for a ride around the tank.No black long spine urchins at all...big huge no
