Urchin

I have 3 urchins, one of them has lost almost all its spines. No reason that I can see, they just fall off. Anyone ever have this happen? He or she still eats, and cruises around the tank, will he or she be alright?

A few months ago, right after I bought my black Urchin, it lost almost all of its spines. It was terrible, there were spines everywhere, and I was sure it was a gonner. But, now, it is fine! Its Spines have all grown back, and it is cruising around, eating, and healthy. Good luck with yours!

Damm things nock everything over. I have 2 in my tank both hitchhikers from rocks. Got them when they were the size of a pinhead and now there big.
but they do knock alot of small stuff over.

Thanks Scooter, that makes me feel alittle better. I was just looking, there are spines everywhere, its so weird.

They eat purple algae and may burrow into live rock as well. Just my 2 cents.
