urchins

That's what I thought, just checking. I am going to buy the puffer and my LFS sells them for 30-$35, if I ordered from SWF I would have to order other stuff, I am not sure there is much else I can add to my tank, maybe a cleaner shrimp.
125 gal with a por puffer, spotted puffer and a niger, SFE
any other things that would go with this set up.
I would rather spend the $13 for the fish on this site and get some other things, but not sure what else to add.
If nothing else I will spend the $35.
I may also add a Maroon Clown, whould adding the clown and puffer be too much to add at the same time

The trigger would love an urchin... in his belly. Urchins are actually a main food source for many triggers so I don't think it would last very long.

Thats odd I have an enormous pencil sea urchin in with my porcupine puffer. They get along famously, Puffy doesn't even pay him any attention. Can't vouch for the trigger though sorry :(

I had a pencil urchin in with my puffer. My puffer never touched it. However my angel fish is another story. I think you could do it. I also think that it depends on the personlaity of the puffer and trigger. My puffer was kinda simple/ He never touched anything in my tank. He would let the scooter blenny get on his back, and they would swim around together. If your puffer/ and trigger are not very curious or destructive then I would nt be afraid to try it.

thanks, I am thinking of also trying a CC star.
how often do you feed fish and SFE
Currently I am feeding my fish about 4 times a week.
Everyother day for the SFE.
Is this to much, not enough. They eat everything I put in the tank.

We have a niger trigger and a valintine puffer with 2 urchins and NO one bugs them, well besides my hubby that got a good stab by one lol. We have both a pencil and pin cushin, they get along just fine, no one bothers them. Good Luck!:)

A baby trigger may not mess with an urchin but 99% of the time an adult trigger will eat an urchin. (with exception to the planktonic triggers)
