and there care? how do you take care of them and are they easy for someone who has never had one before?
I have three of them in my 125...I don't do a thing, just let them graze. Much like a starfish the only thing I think they require is a good amount of live rock to graze on. Beware if you have corals or polyps...they seemingly eat anything they come across. Cool low maintenance addition imo.

I have 3 that I have bought and 2 that came as hitchikers. I have noticed I don't need to do anything for them. They scavenge the algaes and really seem to love eating the Coraline algae. I have 2 pencil urchins, 2 pincushions, and one that I think is a rock boring urchin, don't know the actual name for it though. The pincushions are my favorite as they are always out and about where as the pencils only come out at night, and i hardly ever see the rock boring urchin.

I had a pencil urchin that I loved but it was constantly knocking corals over, and as mentioned earlier they tend to eat what ever is in their path. Mine ripped a massive hole through some green palys. They're cool inverts but I would not put one in a reef tank. Mine stayed in the same spot when the lights were on but at night I could watch him cruise the tank under the moonlights.

They move very slow...more often then not they are not moving at all.
