I don't know why I didn't clarify this before my water changes but it never occured to me...
I use water from my LFS that is taken far, far, out in the ocean near an island. Do I need to dechorinate it before I do a water change? I haven't been doing this!
My clown is acting strange, I think this may be the problem.
Does anyone elses fish act strangely right after a weekly 15% water change?
Thanks

My LFS is excellent and I highly recommend going there. It is called Mark's Fish and is in Sherman Oaks, the water is from Catelina Island for .70 a gallon.
Thanks for your replies, my clown is looking all better.

.70 cents a gallon for real ocean water with real ocean critters - I wish I lived in the area - cause making my own water (RO with Salt) is costing about .90 cents a gallon with no ocean critters.
Send me some.

do they filter the water? The die off I would think would be bad for your tank. The local aquariums sell the same water they use they take it from the sound= inlet from the ocean. But the filter it and uv for parasites. You don't benifit from the critters but it's cheap Dunno if that matters but they sell it for @$0.09 gal
