I heard that on the radio this morning. The Apple rep said that they don't accept cash because they want to be able to track purchases in order to prevent them from going overseas. Didn't make much sense to me.

Electronic money is the wave of the future. I mean come on who actually carries money anymore. Don't fear the future and technology.

Do you actually think Apple cares about 1 measly single person out of all the people spending money at Apple? I really don't think they care. That $400 won't bankrupt Apple.

No, but someone else will....
I wonder if Oprah is looking for some publicity.
It would actually be cheap publicity... a 1000 bucks would buy someone CNN coverage.

Won't it be easier for this woman to get a debit card like just about everybody else in this country. I guess that would be to easy. Maybe she is looking for easy money like other people in this country. Pathetic

Some people have such bad credit they can't get even get debit cards easily.
Why the negativity for someone you don't know. She went to buy it. How is that looking for easy money. Life is so much nicer when you look for the good in people (while being smart enough to not be blind to the bad).
Where did you buy yours JTT? An apple shop?

Wrong, everybody can get a prepaid debit card. Go to walmart, they have there own debit cards. Anybody and everybody can get them.

Don't prepaid cards have fees?
Those fee's shouldn't be on our end, but will get money from the business that ends up accepting the card. Apple actually loses money by not accepting cash.. really weird.

I would imagine, prepaid cards would hold the same problems cash would...
Oh... ya.... same as the gift cards they were saying weren't accepted. Duh on my part.
No wait... we're probably talking about prepaid ATM cards that are linked with bank accounts. I bet they would accept those because it's traceable. But they probably have fees too. But I wouldn't be all hatin' on someone because they don't have an ATM card.
