Looking at a USED tank (72 gal) that has sat in an unheated garage, in temps below zero for weeks, maybe months. Will freezing damage the silicone seal, or equipment (p-heads, cannister, biofilter)??
It would have to be a really really good deal.. I would say yeah.. something will be affected.. I would guess the seals on the tank.. and if that breaks.. well you just paid for new carpet.. amognst other things.. but. if Its a good deal.. just make sure and set it up.. outside first..
i would ask the seller to fill tank outside first to see if seals are ok.. then you could check ph. and such then... but to my knowalge temp wont efect ph and such as long as you bring them back to a norm temp befor trying to use them again...
the same shoouold be good for the tank,,,,
I bought a used tank that was in a storage garage for 6 years, everything is fine, no leaks, all the equipment works.
Like someone else said, make sure you get a GOOD deal!!

I was wondering that myself!!!
think you should have the tank filled for a week & see what happens; if it does leek, remove all/most of the old seal; can be a pain, but worth it if seller then gives you really good deal on a leaky tank; PH-just place in the filled tank & plug in & see for self
