The chemicals you're using are just masking the bacteria and making it soluble , so that the skimmer picks it up.. So i would run the skimmer at all times..

You can't run the skimmer at all times. When I turn it on, the cup fills completely with water in about a minute. If I were to run the skimmer I would have to stand there all day emptying the cup every minute and replacing the water I am taking out.

i told you...it takes multiple large waterchanges to remove it from the system. and yes, you cannot run the skimmer until you get it out.

Don't worry I am listening to Mr. X. It's just been hard to do many water changes with the holidays. I've done a 25 gallon change so far.
Just a question......do you think running carbon for 24 hours would help?

Why can't you run your skimmer? Don't your collection cups allow for overflow? Mine does.
What do you mean by allow for overfow??
The cup fills with water within a minute and then overflows out the holes in the cup. But that doesn't allow anything to be skimmer from the water once the cup is full of water.

no. it will run the tank dry if you have an external jug or something catching it. just be patient.
