I would think there would be a good amount of salt in it. As far as I know salt is not good for most plants.

Plants can osmoregulate their root systems quite well. As long as you water consistantly, the added "gunk" will actually benefit the plant. Not only is it organic fertlizer, it also contains beneficial sodium (salt = NaCl), phospates, calcium, and all the other organic and inorganic particles that make your tank healthy.
Just don't overdo it. If you only water with the stuff from the skimmer, the plants will become dehydrated as the added salt does draw water from the soil. Make sure to water after you fertilize :)

I like the dipping sauce idea... I've been to the UK a few times, and the restaraunts over there carry little packets of "brown sauce" I have no idea what it is... not brave enough to try it. Maybe we could get together, package the stuff and sell it in the 'states under the same name...

Amazing how it can smell up the whole room. I like to make a game of it... see if I can get it dumped and the cup cleaned out before I have to stop holding my breath.
All kidding aside, I figure those of us with septic systems (like me) can do no better with it. All that nice bacteria should help keep things running smoothly down there...
