using 2 skimmers

is it okay to use 2 skimmers... i orders a coralife super skimmer for a 220g and some one pointed out that i dont want more flow through the sump than what the skimmer can handle... this skimmer only has a 500gph pump and i was told that replacing it might not work so i was wondering if i could use my old skimmer that is for a 65g with a 325gph pump... if you can just add the flows together then i could run about 825gph through the skimmer area (will probably only be around 650-700gph though)... i know i should just another skimmer but i have these and still need rock for my tank so that isnt an option right now...
thanks for any imput...

I don't see a problem with it - you'd still be skimming the correct water volume, which is the concept.

ok thank you 2... i cleaned up the old one and hooked it up to the sump with just tap water in it to test it... didnt seem to do a lot and there werent any micro bubbles (there were some bigger bubbles)... im guessing the was because the water was clean and not salt water????
thanks

I am currently running 2 skimmers also, a coralife 220 and a aqua-c remora pro on my 240 reef. I've gotten decent production out of both and have ran my tank this way for about a year now. I'm starting to keep sps now and more delicate fish so I just ordered an msx 250. You'll be fine
