using baking soda

How do I use baking soda in the tank? Disolve it in a cup of tank water? Pour it in?
Or is there something more? Also how much for 90 gal? is it 1 tea spoon per 10 gal? So 9 teaspoons? Add them all at once pouring it in?

I have been dissolving it in RO/DI then putting in my auto top off. Hopefully the mods won't yank this link. It's pretty helpful and not advertising anything.
