Using Brass for Chiller piping

I recently purchased a 1/4 hp Chiller. The In/Out is 1". I had to convert this size to match my power head so I can pump water through it. I went to Home Depot to get the right pieces. Personally I was looking for plastic parts but could not find the right sizes. The pieces that I found are made of Brass. They cost a little more but I was wondering if Brass has any bad affect on a reef tank?
So Basically, Is Brass bad for reef tanks..
I really appreciate the help.
thanks,

Great,
Two hours of work at playing the mix and match game with pieces for my chiller...
Thanks for the advice...
Now I have to go find some other place besides home depot.

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer of the chiller? They might be able to point you towards a place that has what you need.

I have a Custom Sea Life 1/4 HP.
The inlet/outlet is 1".
My pump that I am planning to use is a RIO which is 5/8"
So I need a converter with a Male 1" on one side and the other side 5/8 so I can use for my pump.
Any suggestions anybody?

I did some hunting because I'm bored....I'm assuming you are using flex hose....if you are I found what you are looking for.
Go Here It lists "Flex Hose to Flex Hose Reducers" and the size of 1 1/4" (5/8) to 1" is there for $1.55 each. HTH
