Using old sand

I had a 55 gal tank set up with 70 lbs ls. I am upgrading to a larger tank and am going to use that sand in my refugium and place new sand in my display tank.Anyway, I placed the sand in a bucket filled with water, but no waterflow for about a week as my tank was getting set up.
My question is...is it ok to put that sand back in as long as I rinse it out and plan on cycling the tank anyway. Is there any other concerns that I need to know about?
I also have about 50 lbs of live rock in a seperate tank that is getting water circulation and everything, do I need to wait on the tank to cycle before I put it in or do I go ahead and put it in anyways.

I would add the sand at the same time. If not it might cause a second cycle.

Thanks for the response. I am planning on the tank cycling anway, I am just curious if there would be any other negative affect of using the sand if it had been sitting without air circulation for a while?

might want to rinse it in some saltwater and after you put it in your refuge put some fresh live sand on top cause its probably not live anymore
