USPS is the worst service on the planet

So I just wanted to say how fed up I am with USPS. They have lost 6-7 of the last packages I have sent or received through them. I HATE THEM SOOOO MUCH! I HATE THEM I HATE THEM I HATE THEM! I wish that I could get ahold of a high up in the company and explain my pure unbridaled hatred of their crappy company. Every employee I talk to is an idiot that has NO idea of what is going on or how to help or even where to begin looking for the packages. GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

So you are trying to tell us that this company is not one that you care for very much. Don't be shy and tell us how you really feel.....

You can contact the local Postmaster. but yeah, the USPS is a prime example of how government ran businesses and service operate.

I have had somewhere around 10 packages sent to me through the USPS and never had one lost or delayed. On the other hand, I have had packages delayed or damaged several times by UPS and FedEx. I do not think it has anything to do with a particular shipping company but with the competance of the employees that work at the individual stores you take/receive the packages from. It is even worse through the holidays because all the shipping companies are using temp labor to get through the increased package flow.

I have had some problems with ups and fedex before BUT the difference is they aways know what happened and where they messed up and where my package went. USPS is clueless and dumb dumb dumb

Besides the loong lines, I've always had good experiences with them... Much better than with fedex and ups. (although I can tell some horror stories with fedex and ups while working for radiocrap.)

usps good for letters and bills and stuff like that. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT send anything you want to track with them. You never know where your package is. (try tracking it before you recieve it.) I realise there are mental midgets everywhere, and they obviously do have competent people, but can you say GOVERNMENT JOB?

Yeah I don't trust them for shipping fish/live goods. I use fedex or airport to airport air cargo if possible instead.

Knock on wood, I have sent and received many items, mostly buying and selling music gear the last several years and I can recall only one time that USPS was late delivering an item to a buyer. Never lost anything.
As to other carriers, I have had good experiences with UPS. The absolute worst service I have ever had is FedEx. In fact, FedEx service is so bad in my area, I will hesitate to purchase items from sellers if the only service available is FedEx.

Good. I opened this thread before even reading it intending to make this point.
Ladiesmen, this is a prime example of what happens when the government runs a "business." UPS, FedEX, DHL, etc, by contrast, are perfect examples of how privitized business is often superior in almost every way.
Among my chief complaints about USPS...
- They lose or significantly delay delivery more often than not
- Their "tracking" is a joke... no estimated delivery... no updates whatsoever until the package is actually delivered... at which point... what good is tracking?
- Severely rough handling of packages
The only good thing about them is that they are cheap... but I always pay more for private sector shipping companies when I have the option.

Yeah, their "tracking" truly is a joke! At the condo I manage, residents ask where their package is that USPS reports as being "delivered". I then have to tell them, once again, that USPS tracks packages and reports them as "delivered" when they arrive at the local Post Office and NOT when they are delivered to my building a day or two later. Residents get all P.O'd when I tell them that and I reply-ask them for a signature! Which, of course, USPS doesn't provide!
Hmmm, I wonder why they lost a couple of billion dollars last quarter?
