UV Sterilizer Sizes

I'm pretty sure the bigger the tank, the bigger the watts on the sterilizer, but is there a formula out there? I have a 125 gallon tank. Also does anyone have any recomendations for me? Can you use them on reef tanks? My tank is new and is still cycling but i'm reserching as much as I can now.

i posted that same question months ago, Beth told me for my 125gal i should have 28 watts. also its not a good idea to put them in a reef tank it will do more harm then good. it will kill all the little free buggys that ur corals will eat (planktons) and others.
