How strong should the pump be going into the UV sterilizer? Someone told me it was 110. right now i have a rio 600 pumping into the UV, this is 200gph . should i switch it to a rio 200 which is only 138gph? or even smaller?

really depends on the size and brand of the uv sterilizer.do some reasearch on the one you have and it should tell you the proper flow rate

a slower pump would be prefferencial. the longer the water is exposed to the bulb the more it kills. i have a 36w uv and have a mj1200 hooked up to it.

yupper.. the flow rate is depended on the uv unit itself.. but like stated before.. the longer the water is exposed to the uv light.. the better..
