i would like to purchase one for my 55 gal tank, also i dont know alot about them just know they are a benifit. i dont have a fuge so can i get one? if so does anyoen have one for sale?

Most people don't use them. The idea is that they are used to remove harmful things from the water such as ick. Some people have the opinion that they also remove helpful stuff as well. My opinion, don't waste your money.

ok ty right now i do have ick in my tank maybe that is why i thought it would be a good idea. almost gone though working on it.
