Hi all,
I need some feedback from my expert friends....
I am tired of dealing w/ algae blooms in my tank, and I have tried a bunch of things and still have algae galore. Do you guys recoment using an UV Sterilizer? Will this kill my Coralline?
Tks for the feedback

A UV isn't a cure all for problems....First you should determine what inside your system if feeding or fueling your algal blooms.......A UV will not kill of coraline, but it's just not plug and play....they have to properly setup and flow regulated through them to make them effective, and they also must be maintained as well for them to be effective, but again by no means are they a cure all for proper maintenance and quarantining.......

Tks for the response. Let me add some more details.
I have try all basic things…changed bulbs…feed my tank once a day….very small portion (they eat in seconds- no left over), and still have brown algae (diatoms). I’m really not looking for a miracle solution… I just want to try something different since I’ve tried many others.
Just as info. I have two tanks – 72 bowfront and a 125. I’ve had no problems w/ my 125 (MH), however, I have tons of problems w/ my 72 (tek t-5). On my 72….not only I get algae, but also air bubbles. Even If I turn all filters and powerheads off….in about 2 hs the whole tank is filled w/ air bubbles. Ahh…specially attached to algae. I even had a professional guy come over to check that…since he said that light will not create bubbles…. But after checking my tank he had no explanation. Water temp is at 78 degrees. I understand UV will be a cure to all problems…. But maybe just to this one??
