UWO!!!!!!! (unidentified wall object)

wow there are these weird little
white star things that stick to
the wall of my tank! They look
like very small brittle stars...
The are all about a millimeter
in AREA.. (get ure rulers out)
and i got close to this one w/
my magnifying glass, and they
seem to have about 13 legs each.
their legs also sseem to sway in
the current. my female clown
seems interested in what they are
but both my clowns are surprisingly
well in sight cause i can barly see
them! If anyone has a clue what
they are please let me know! And if you
need any more info on these please let
me know!
TR :(

I dont know about those, but i have these white little starfish (about the same size) and they have 3 longer legs than the other two short legs... they look kinda like the chocolate chip starfish, just white and no knobs..

well by watching these things a little longer
they seem to move up and down using there legs.
they also seem to have a baige sort of middle.
please someone! i would like to know what these are!!

I too have seen these in my tanks. I have no clue what they are but now you have made me think about them. I am going to search right now...

I had a few of these suckers too. I read that they are preditory starfish. They are no good, and will eat your corals if you have any. Mine looked like a minature chocolate starfish. Heres a link to where i read up on them. web page
Just go there, and in the search menu type in preditory starfish. There should be some articles with pictures.....could give you an ID. If they are the pred. stars i would get them out right away!

I had these start popping up shortly after cycling my tank a few yrs. back. At the time, I did not know what they were, and I still don't.
But one interesting thing is, that I did not know about adding calcium to the tank at the time. They slowly disapeared, and my corals were doing badly, and my coraline algea was dying off. Then I found out the cause. Calcium.
I started dripping Kalk. and within a week things were looking better. About a month later the little white things started coming back. Maybe coincidence, but it is worth a thought. Is it a good sign that your calcium levels are up?

hmmm. i wonder..... Well
any one else have any more input on that...
these little white stars come back and go from
time to time but they always move up
and down the front or sides of the tank!!
thank you ~~

They maybe Hydroid Jellyfish. Not anything that will mature in your tank to look like a jellyfish just a relative. Bammbamm's discription is exactly the way I would discribe a hydriod jellyfish.

YES YES!!!!
i did a search on them and found exactly what i was looking for!!!
totally right! these are definatly hydroid jelly fish! Now that i know that !!
Thank you thank you all~~
