Vacation Advice

Hi!
My hubby and I will be going out of town several times this summer for up to week. We have no clue what to do with our tank while we're gone. We've got an automatic feeder that we can set up but what about evaporation/adding water? When our water gets low our skimmer blows bubbles like mad and I'd hate for it to start blowing bubbles on the second day we're gone.

So any advice? I'm honestly not too keen on someone from the lfs coming into my house to "babysit", plus the closest one is 40 minutes away. We've considered our neighbors but their kids killed their goldfish in a week....

Look up DIY auto top off systems...I could not tell you how to do it...LOL...But there are a bunch on this site that people have made.

they vary easy to set up. shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.

I am working on this one - http://www.3reef.com/forums/i-made/m...off-34549.html - I switched out the rubber glove for a rubber plumbing gasket. Took about 2 hrs to make and only cost around 5 for all the parts including the top off tank. I'm testing it right now, so I can post a few pics if you like early next week.

Sorry it called school had to leave. Why can't they teach fish related things unstead of some of the other things.
