i'm leaving for a week on monday. I did a large water change last weekend and made sure my top off bucket would last a week and only half was used. I will fill it up tomorrow and empty my skimmer cup. Also, my mom and sister will be stopping by to let my dog out and will feed the fish. I feel like I have everything covered. Any other suggestions?

have the food pre-portioned, to prevent over feeding and have a batch of mixed saltwater available incase of anything really bad happening

I use those small plastic bathroom cups - pop what food I want feed into them, and stack in a zip lock bag. That way they only have to take one cup out and thaw in a little water, rinse and feed the tank.

The only thing I do diffrent, is I cut (cut=turn off) the skimmer while I am gone, because that always seems to cause problems when Im missing.

LOL....A web cam so you can log on from a remote computer and look at the tank. A whole week....you are so brave. I am afraid to leave the house for more than 10 hours. It's so hard to pre-guess what might go wrong.
The top off I think was your biggest concern, and you have that covered. You could turn off the skimmer for a week, it won't hurt a thing to have it off. If it were to overskim it could affect the ATO. It's never a good idea to tweak a skimmer higher or lower just before leaving. Off is the best choice. Back in the day we only ran our skimmer twice a month, it eats all the coral food from the water.
I would cut the food down to half that I feed, the fish will be fine and it may protect the tank from an accidental overfeeding which can make things go bad fast. That way if Mom swings by and feeds the fish, and Sister comes an hour later not knowing mom was there...the worst they did was feed the fish an entire normal feeding.

Kill the power and make sure your syphon brakes are working and you do not over flow your sump (if you are using one)
