vagabond BF feeding amount?

Hi,
I have a Vagabond, and 2 percs,
I have been feeding lightly twice daily.
I also am having a trate problem, going on several weeks to a month.
trates are consistantly around .40
i have changed filter media, water changes, all that to try to lower my trates.
i am now thinking over feeding may be the culprate.
I am worried about feeding less because the BF is picking my LR all day, always seems hungery, and always frenzies while eating, so fast the percs dont get much.
Ive also seen the BF pull food out of my percs mouth.
so, Im open to suggestions before i change any feeding patterns,

I know its more of a tang and angel thing, but mabe see if it will eat seaweed selects. Then you can leave it in all day for the butterfly to graze at its leisure.
