Hey, I've heard these are reef safe. Is this true at all? I know a woman who had one in her reef and had no problems but I'd really like to hear some other opinions on the issue before I drop one in my reef. I'm pretty worried that they would just massacre my inverts. Thanks alot, MATT

Its a hit and miss thing. They could be "pickers" or they could be the ones that never touch anything. If you do get it whens it is tiny then it will grow up around the inverts and coral...

thats the approach I'm taking and hope it works out. so far at this size it hasn't harmed my fire shrimp, hermits or snails. it eats the tube worms off the live rock and the pods off the glass. It picks at the live rock all day but has only picked at one coral (open brain). it has left my zoo's, mushrooms, hammer, frogspawn and yellow sponge alone. At the very least I'd like to determine which ones he wont bother and get just those corals.

You do realize when puffers, boxfish and cowfish when they die release a poisin that can kill everthing in the tank. I would put any of them in my reef tank.

you do realize puffer's are poisonous to consume/eat but pose no threat to the tank or livestock from simply dying. Cowfish are a species of boxfish and they are poisonous when they die or get stressed which is why puffers are a thousand times more popular than boxfish.
