Anybody else having vehicle problems? I just found out that a couple of my injectors are bad in my car and its gonna cost me $700 to get it fixed! At this point I wonder if I should just fix it or take it as a loss and get a new car.
Grrrrr....

Do you owe on it. If not look at it like a couple of car payments. I have a 4runner that's paid off, and it's been paid off for a year now. Every time i have a repair I just think of it as a car payment. A $700 payment for the year isn't bad if you look at it like that. If your looking to get a new car, it's also a good excuse to tell yourself that these costly repairs would be better served going to a car payment with a warranty. It's your choice.

I owe about $4500 on it still, which sucks. And if I trade it in, theyre not gonna give me anything for it since it needs new injectors.

That is why I bought an extended warranty on my Corvette right before my factory warranty went out. When they decide to take a dump, it a gold plated dump. I've seen my warranty repair bills and they usually averaged around $1500 a visit. My extended warranty cost about the same as one repair.
It's a fact of life. Just bite the bullet and get it fixed. You may want to check around other repair shops if you are getting a quote from a dealership. They can be outrageous at times. Look for a good SAE certified mechanic, but be careful. It does not always mean they are good but worth a look.

ok first off what type of car are you talking about.. and unless you have a warantee i would never go to a dealer for a quote.. they up the charge way to much.. find a local shop or someone you may know and trust.. as the injectors are not the axpesive themselves (for most cars) just the time it takes to put them in... and what is the problem is the car just stalling wont start sometimes.. no guts.. maybe i can help you out.. actualy a good cleaning might change it a hole lot.. then again maybe not..

Injectors shouldn't cost very much, and they are quite simple to remove /install.
I would expect a bill for $300 ball park.
Check around, $700 is too much IMO

Get a manual from Autozone for your vehicle, buy some basic tools and do it yourself. You'll be under 200 I'd bet. You can do it in a couple hours max.

...Or but the manual, a case of beer, the injectors and take the whole lot to your family "wrench" and watch him do it in about 2 hours

Jen: I'm in Ma also I own a repair shop. I can take care of you. There's 2 way's you can do this. First off a couple of injectors should NEVER cost that much inless it's on a space shuttle. Never go back to that repair shop. 2nd did you ever think about using used injectors? What type of car is it. I may have some for you

Hey Everyone, thanks for the support. Im getting 2 injectors through my moms boyfriend, who happens to be a mechanic. I can get them for $80 a piece so Im just gonna have mom send them up to me and have them install them. A lot cheaper than $700!
