I would look into the one you posted a picture of, I use them on both of my tanks and they are heavy duty. on the back they have holes so you can hang them on the wall ( which i did).

why does it need to be plastic? idk what type of metal it is but ive had one of them for over 6 months and it hasnt rusted or anything, it looks brand new. just mount it high enough where it doesn't get any splash from your sump.
