VHO Heat question

Ok well I've decided to buy the 440 watt VHO retrofit kit........From what I see it comes only with the electronic ballast....(the one from hellolights...48")....Now I was going to make a canopy for this (do i need to)....I have never had very high lighting so I'm not sure if I am supposed to buy fans to cool them off......Any information anyone could offer on how I should set this up would be appreciated...thanks

yes you can add fans to your canopy, but the ballast tries to keep it at minimum heat. IMO, i would get fans just to control the tempurature.
