via aqua hang on filter

whats up? I have a via aqua hang on w/ protien skimmer and u.v., its loud and it does not self prime. I'm ready to throw it out. Any replies on how to silence it down and to keep its prime if power goes out?Thanks

I have one and the prime doesn't work. I have to attach a piece of tubing and self prime it. I also notice a noice reduction with the tubing connect then witht he primer on. I haven't found a way to prime it after a power outage except manually. Other than that problem I lik the filter.

whats up scarr105, I found one article on how to get rid of some of the vibration noise. I tried it, I superglued the impeller to the magnet , it got a little less noisy. I added a power head w/venturi to the tank and ran an airline tube from the venturi to the air intake of the filter, taking off the manual pump. It gets real quite but no air bubbles for the skimmer. Still trying to come up w/something.any info?later
