Ok I took it back to the store and they showed me how to put it together correctly but I had it the right way anway......so I get it back home and try to put it on and the intake syphon tube sticks out so far that my glass top wont fit......real bad news. So I figure I will have to get a custom top made or something and start it up anyway.....it doesnt work correctly! It just keeps dumping wet foam into the cup which becomes water and then overflows with water. I try adjusting air intake and water intake all damn night...and I mean all damn night and it just wont work right!
So now I have to go back to the store tomorow and deal with them not wanting to take this poorly designed piece of ---- back:mad:

And by the way the instructions on this thing are FKING USELESS!!! I have never seen a piece of equipment so vague in my life. Even the people that run the store said that they were useless. No breakdown of the parts or even a description of how they work. Absolutely no information on tuning it either

No problem. Im moving next month and probably buying a larger tank so I decided to keep it for now. Im going to put in on my new tank when I leave and see if I can get it to work correctly. If not I will have my friend who used to run a fish store help out....if I still cant get it to work Im going to destroy it with a baseball bat and mail it back to Via Aqua:D

I agree, the instructions are worthless, and mine were wrong.
My skimmer works really good once you get it going. The water level of the tank needs to be full. I have it on a 55 gallon tank with 50 lbs live rock. My tank is clean, but it's running fallow right now.
If you can take it back now is a good time. I'd rather have a sump.
