I know....that was my favorite smiley.

Since you want colorful fish, you are in the right hobby. Pretty much every fish in saltwater is beautiful with lots of color. Again, you can see what I have in my diary, but just do research on what the fish needs (tank size, etc) and who it will get along with before you start adding. Some fish are very beautiful but are not suitable with other fish. So just do your research and you will be ok.

Even if it's live sand it won't do enough of a cycle to hurt anything. However, I put my base rock, then live rock on top, THEN my sand (mostly dry sand, then 20 lbs of live sand - no need to spend more money then needed). In doing it this way your rock is directly on the bottom of your tank (you can also use egg crate if you want to place the rocks on), so if you have any critters that will move your sand around, you won't have the rocks come crashing down.

she got it, i used base then sand let that settle then put the rest of the live rock in. the egg crate is also another good idea.

I did the same thing with my 75 gal tank...used 80+ pounds of aragonite reef sand and added a bag of live sand. I put egg crate down first, then my base rock, then sand..then my LR went in and water...worked out great! Here I am 9 months later and no regrets! My wallet is definitely lighter
...but no regrets!

your tank looks great so far! looks kinda like mine..mine is smaller tho'
