Has any one ever dosed there tank with vitamin c heard it does great for reef tanks from few people want to see what other people think?

I've never had problems dosing vitamin C in some of my reef tanks. It works very well for certain fish diseases. Fish/coral immune systems are kind of like humans - Vitamin C helps protect them against diseases and infections. When a coral doesn't have to put so much energy into fighting off disease - it can grow faster and color up better. I wouldn't bother buying liquid vitamin C from some supplier. I just crushed up 1000mg of vitamin C in a morter and pestle and dumped it in a swift flowing part of the sump. I would start with 250mg a day for a week, then 500mg the next and keep adding until you start seeing a noticeable difference and then keep it at that dose. Just monitor it really closely.

wow- now I want to try that!
What about feeding your tangs and other herbivorous fish slices of oranges or lemons? Or adding lemon juice to the tank?

HAHAHA, I wouldn't feed fish oranges and lemons. I don't think they would like that to much. One of the main ingredients in Selcon is Vitamin C, (I'm pretty sure...) Any serious hobbyist should invest some time into researching Vitamin C dosing. Vodka dosing is something I've never tried though (and not about to try!)

Did you ph jump at all with adding vitamin c or did your alk change?

Cuccaro,
To be honest, I didn't notice any differences in chemical balances... mainly because I only test if something is going wrong. I'm the kind of person that waits to test water quality when I see a problem in the tank. So, I just dosed and didn't have any problems. Now for you - you may want to monitor your tank closer if you are uncomfortable with my method.
BTW - I'm going to go ahead and say it to cover my behind: "Don't Dose Until You Test." and/or "Don't Dose a chemical unless you already know how much to dose."
